Gavin Giles, 20+ years of I.T.
I am currently exploring new opportunities in either the I.T. space, Software support, SCCM - Configuration Manager, software packaging.
In my daily routine, I build and deploy computers and handle new hire onboarding. We work with SCCM, and Configuration Manager. I have recently started exploring the depths of Intune and all that it offers. It is uncertain how long my current contract will last, as such, I am seeking an opportunity in the software packaging, Active Directory, SCCM / ConfigMan space.
I am always learning new things.
The perfect opportunity would be a company exploring technologies of computer and
software deployment using Intune, SSCM Configuration Manage and like tools .
During Covid, I had been studying Data Analytics...
I then received my Google Data Analytics cert. - The study of cleaning, organizing and performing calculations of data within databases, spreadsheets, and cloud data.
The focus uses modern tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, R programming, and visualization with Tableau, Power Bi, and R
If you call failures experiments, you can put them in your resume and claim them as achievements.
- Second Contract - Current -
I am currently the Laptop deployment Lead, working at CarMax. I build and deploy hardware and software using SCCM, Configuration Manager and INTUNE. I am responsible for corporate newhire documentation, and computer hardware onboarding. I build computers for all departments in corporate as well as our 248 retail stores. I manage the 2-factor bypass for new computers to allow new users to log in for the first time. Any software that was missing or needed, I would move the computer or user in the correct Organazational Unit and update memberships in Configuration Manager to allow the software to be pushed to the user.
This area of software packaging and deployment has become an interest to me,
I am building a home lab environment to test and learn
more about this topic.

As a change of pace, I have been exploring Data Analytics. I have always been fascinated by data, charts and graphs, and wanted to learn how it is done. Below are some junior Data Analytics items I have worked on.
Bellabeat is a manufacturer of health tracking devices that is looking to become a more dominant player in this space. They offer different devices that monitor data activity such as sleep, stress, walking activity, and calories burned. They have provided a data set to analyze in order to reveal opportunities for potential business growth.
My hands-on education spans electricity, electronics, drafting, CAD, computers, and data analytics. These skills are invaluable across industries, from engineering to data analysis, enabling me to excel in diverse fields.

As a constant learner, I tend to find interest in things that solve problems. Whenever I am faced with a problem, I find or create tools to help me solve them. In my journey as an I.T. professional, I have been faced with repetitive tasks that I learned how to automate by writing scripts.
My knowledge is motivated by having a problem to solve.
